Keep NI docs

Install and connect

Install Keep NI, connect your Chrome profile, and add an AI model.

Keep NI uses a Mac app to run monitors and a Chrome extension to capture webpages. Set up both, then add a model to read values from your captures.

1. Install the app and extension

  1. Open Download for system requirements and installation links.
  2. Download the Mac app, open the disk image, and drag Keep NI into Applications. Launch it from Applications.
  3. In Chrome, switch to the profile you want Keep NI to use and install the extension from the Chrome Web Store link on the Download page.

Keep both Keep NI and Chrome running during checks.

2. Connect your Chrome profile

  1. In Keep NI’s top-right toolbar, open Chrome.
  2. Find your profile and choose Use this profile.
  3. Confirm the connection shows Connected.

If no profile appears, open that Chrome profile and check that Keep NI is enabled in chrome://extensions.

Keep NI uses that profile’s existing website sessions. If a website requires a sign-in, sign in directly in the selected Chrome profile before monitoring it.

3. Add an AI model

Open Settings → AI models → Add model. Choose a model that supports images and structured output:

  • OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini: save your provider’s key in Settings → API keys first, then return to Add model, choose the provider, and select a model.
  • Ollama: enter your server address, choose Connect, and select a compatible installed model.

Choose Add model to finish. The first model you add becomes the default for new Read steps. See Set up AI models for model selection and setup help.

With Chrome connected and a model added, you’re ready to create Your first monitor.
