Imagine a bag of coffee you buy regularly. Today’s price is easy to see. Whether it has changed since last week is harder to remember.

This example uses a fictional shop and synthetic readings. It illustrates the workflow, not a connection to a particular retailer.

Choose two useful readings

Create a monitor called Morning coffee and enter the product page in Open page. Capture the page and select the area containing its price and availability.

Add a Read step with two fields:

  • Price, a Number. An optional instruction can clarify that you want the current price, excluding shipping.
  • Availability, Text. Collect the status shown on the page, such as “In stock”.

Choose your configured model, test the step, and check the returned values against the page.

Start collecting

Save the workflow and choose Check now. Then enable a schedule suited to how often you need a reading. Keep the Mac awake and Keep NI running when you want checks to happen.

Each successful stored check adds a timestamped price and availability reading. A failed check records an error instead of inventing a value.

Look back

Open Charts to see the numeric price history and observed availability states. Filter the time range to compare recent readings.

Readings tell you what was observed at check time. They do not identify the exact moment a website changed between checks. This workflow records information; it does not make purchases or send stock alerts.
